High-resolution sonar and laser scans of the riverbed of the Thames in west London have been collected along the River Thames in Hammersmith.
Data shows a mound created by wet wipes, which has grown to the size of two tennis courts and over a metre tall in the past six years.
We use 11 billion wet wipes every year in the UK and 90% of them contain plastic.

Leaders of more than 100 countries pledged to end deforestation by 2030. – backed by £14 billion – about $20 billion in public and private funding – endorsed by over 100 leaders. This represents over 85 percent of the world’s forests.

The pact to “halt and reverse deforestation and land degradation by 2030” includes, promises to secure the rights of indigenous peoples, and recognise “their role as forest guardians”.

I was at the WTM and had the pleasure of speaking with Panama’s Minister of Tourism: Ivan Eskildsen:

Panama is putting sustainability front row and centre for their tourism industry. I asked about Panama’s protection of the rainforests and does it involve the indigenous peoples.
